Barbara Edelstein
| BARBARA EDELSTEIN began making her unique woven jewelry in 1993. She learned the technique in a Hawai'i Stitchery and Fiber Arts Guild workshop taught by visiting Washington, D.C. artist Helen Banes. Incorporating artifacts and beads, the technique involves combining the colors and textures of the beads with those of the fibers and coming up with a design that is pleasing and makes the wearer feel good. Edelstein is a past president of the Hawai'i Stitchery and Fiber Arts Guild and a member of the Hawaii Handweavers Hui. Originally from Michigan, Edelstein has lived in Honolulu since 1969. |
