Mike Lee

Wood Art

Mike’s current work focuses on carved pieces with an emphasis on breathing life into the work through gesture and movement. Much of his inspiration is derived from nature, which he uses as a source for texture, form and motion. He has been a featured demonstrator at several wood turning symposiums in the U.S. and abroad, as well as an instructor at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Tennessee and Anderson Ranch in Colorado.

Mike has also exhibited widely in juried and invitational shows around the world. His work is in the permanent collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Mobile Museum (Alabama), the Contemporary Museum (Honolulu), the Honolulu Academy of Arts, and many others.
