Jackie uses whatever media is necessary to achieve the scale and emotional impact her ideas demand. Working primarily in bronze, steel, paper, wood and clay she has created art in Hawaii for over 30 years. Originally from Maryland, her formal education in art and architecture was completed with a BFA and MFA in sculpture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jackie devoted many years to teaching children and adults at The Honolulu Academy of Arts, The Boys and Girls Club of Honolulu, Lanakila Senior Center and as a Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Artist in the Schools. She continues to teach Sculpture and Bronze Casting for the Outreach College at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jackie has completed commissions for The Hawaii Maritime Center, The Bishop Museum, Diamond Head Bark Park and Roosevelt High School’s Class of 1960, a Cooke Foundation “School Beautification” awardee in 2010. A parent, Girl Scout leader, past president and current board member of Hawaii Craftsmen and Temple Emanu El, her artwork is in the collection of The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and in private collections in Hawaii and beyond.
