BUD SPINDT has been creating unique art glass in Hawaii for over 25 years. Earning his BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Hawaii, he’s known for one-of-a-kind sculptures and functional art pieces using a wide range of glass forming techniques including hand blowing, hot casting and kiln forming. His work is inspired by the highly saturated colors of the tropics in jewel transparents and liquid opals. He was recently awarded a commission by the State Foundation for Culture and the Arts to create a site-specific sculpture at Mokapu School in Kaneohe.
